  • Sports Day

    Wed 28 Jun 2017

Tuesday morning saw the whole school taking part in our annual Sports Day. We were very lucky that the rain held off and we even saw some sunshine!

Each year group had lots of fun taking part in a variety of races and earning points for their house team before coming together to compete in a series of flat running races. The water race was a firm favourite amongst all the children and we all demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship cheering on our friends and team mates.

The overall winners of the morning, who get to lay claim to the Outstanding Performance cup for the year ahead is Blue House. Congratulations!

Yellow Team were the proud winners of the Perseverance and Determination trophy. Red Team won the trophy for Excellent Sportsmanship.

Well done everyone and thank you to everybody for all the hard work.

  • Author Sean Taylor's Visit

    Tue 27 Jun 2017
We were very lucky to be included in Sean Taylor's recent tour of schools.  Sean arrived on a very hot Friday afternoon with P.G. Wells, the book shop from Winchester.  As the children arrived in the hall they were greeted by Sean playing a drum.  The afternoon was very interactive with opportunities for the children to ask Sean questions about his books, solve his riddles, listen to him reading some of his stories and singing.  Sean needed the children's help to write a poem about animals.  He helped them to think carefully about their word choices.  The book signing was well attended with almost £500 of book sales.  Sean commented on the children's willingness to share ideas and their creativity.  What a fabulous afternoon it was!
