When & when not to send your child to school
Medicines in school
Medicines can only be administered at school with written parental consent, no child will be given prescription or non-prescription medicines unless this has been provided. We are able to administer medicines that have been prescribed to be given 4 times per day. Medicine that is required less frequently can be administered outside of school hours, eg a 3 times per day dose could be administered at breakfast, after school and at bedtime.
Please ask at the school office for a consent form if your child requires medicine during the school day.
We can only accept prescribed medicines if they are:
- In date
- Labelled
- Prescribed
- Provided in the original container as dispensed by the pharmacist
- Include instructions for administration, dosage and storage
