We know it’s important to look after our physical health by making positive choices about the food we eat and ensure we exercise regularly but it’s also incredibly important we take steps to take care of our emotional and mental health too.
The 5 Steps to Wellbeing is a set of evidence-based public mental health messages aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing across the whole population:
· Be Active
· Take notice
These have been adopted and are actively promoted by organisations such as Mind and the NHS. There are many mental health charities and websites available online providing children, young people and their parents with valuable information about mental health conditions, coping strategies and contact details. One example is YoungMinds.
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people. Their website is full of information, signs and symptoms and it also includes a Parent section
