  • Air Ambulance Day

    Fri 04 May 2018

On Friday 20th April we joined with other schools in Andover to raise awareness of the amazing work the Hampshire and Isle of Wight carry out.  The children wore clothes with yellow and green on them and donated a £1 to benefit the charity.  The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance website was very informative and we were able to find out lots of interesting facts about the helicopters and the life-saving work the team do every day and night.

  • Hope, Peace and Remembrance White Day

    Wed 02 May 2018

On Wednesday 18th April, we all enjoyed our Hope, Peace and Remembrance White Day to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

We spent the day learning about the First World War and creating white doves and white flower to contribute to the county wide art project.  In Year One they also made dove biscuits with white icing.  The children’s art work is currently displayed in our school hall but will be collected shortly so it can become part of larger installations around Hampshire later this year.

Most of the materials were kindly donated by parents and friends of the school so thank you donating such a lovely variety of white materials for the art workshops.

We also shared stories about members of our family who may have served during the war and we have created a book of memories to share with the children.
