Year 2 Swimming More events...
  • Year 2 SwimmingDear Year 2 Parents, We are incredibly lucky to have the chance to take Year 2 swimming this year as part of our PE lessons within the national curriculum. All Year 2 classes will be starting on Wednesday 17th April 2024. We will complete a 6 week block of swimming lessons, swimming once a week each Wednesday morning. We will be going to Andover Leisure Centre and the children will be taught by qualified leisure centre swimming teachers. We will be travelling to and from the leisure centre in minibuses. We are allocating our Sports Premium funding to cover the costs of the swimming teachers and the minibus travel, so there will not be a charge for swimming. Starting on Wednesday 17th April, after the Easter holidays, all children will need to bring in a named bag with their swimming costume/trunks (not Bermuda shorts) and a towel. Their last swimming session will be on Wednesday 22 nd May 2024. Before the children begin their swimming lessons it would be helpful to know their water experience, so please complete the educational visit information and consent form via the link below. This form must be completed and returned by Thursday 29th March. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfv2liC-cXuRbivdmgRnAxekrM8pP14B6HNTGknvPaleXXm7Q/viewform If you have any questions, please speak to one of us at the door. Year 1 SeaCity Trip More events...
  • Year 1 SeaCity TripDear Parents/Carers, On Tuesday 30th April 2024 Year 1 are off on their very exciting trip to SeaCity Museum, Southampton. The trip will reinforce and extend the learning for next half term on the Titanic. The cost is £11.72. The trip will include an expert-led workshop, a discovery tour of the Titanic exhibition, a chance to explore the interactive exhibits and the return coach journey. We are grateful to the PTA who have contributed £3 per child. To get to Southampton in time, the coach will be leaving at 9.00am, so we ask that the children in Year 1 come to school promptly at an earlier time of 8:40am that morning. We will return to school for our normal home time. The children will need to be in full school uniform. All infant children are entitled to receive free school meals, this includes a packed lunch on school trips. A packed lunch includes fruit, carrot and cucumber sticks, a biscuit or cake and a ham or cheese sandwich. Alternatively, you can provide your own packed lunch for your child. This must be in a named disposable bag. No cans or glass bottles or sweets. May we remind parents not to include anything that contains nuts. We have both children and adults with severe nut allergies. All children need to bring their named water bottle. Bottled water will also be available to all children. Please complete the consent orm via the link below along with payment and confirm your child’s lunch choice by Thursday 28th March. Thank you. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeihyWwILC2mUJ4R1HtTN7UFTy8X7e7flbxQTE6wiR5FQ2Xjg/viewform Yours sincerely Mrs H Slade Year 1 Leader
