Year 2 Roald Dahl Day More events...
  • Year 2 Roald Dahl DayDear Parents, Portway Infant & Junior Schools are delighted to share a joint celebration of all things Dahl on Friday 12th September. Years 2 & 3 will be joining together to experience a day of immersive learning to celebrate the birthday of the late author Roald Dahl. Across the day the children will enjoy three workshops learning more about some of our favourite Roald Dahl books. These include a theatre workshop and performance, designing and making their own Wonka sweets and concocting and making their own marvellous medicines. We will also be enjoying Roald Dahl’s ‘Revolting Rhymes’. Each Year 2 class will be ‘buddied up’ with a Year 3 class for the day with workshops taking place in both schools. Children need to come in their normal school uniform, this is not a dress up day. NO costumes needed! There is no charge for this day. The theatre company and all the workshop resources will be funded by our wonderful PTFA. Thank you PTFA! Check out our websites for photos of this exciting collaborative day next week!
