Year R Trip to Longdown Activity Farm More events...
  • Year R Trip to Longdown Activity FarmWe are taking the children in Year R to Longdown Activity Farm on Tuesday 13th May to support our topic next half term on ‘Portway Farmers’. The cost of the trip is £17.17 per child, please do not hesitate to come and see us if this causes you any problems. The price will include a day full of exciting farmer activities led by Longdown staff and will enhance our learning in school. We are grateful to the PTA who have agreed to subsidise this trip. To get to Longdown on time, the coach will be leaving soon after 9.00am, so we ask that the children in Year R come to school promptly that morning. We will return to school for our normal home time. Children will need to be in their own clothes e.g. jeans, clothes that can get muddy, with a Portway sweatshirt, a waterproof coat and appropriate footwear e.g. wellies or trainers, dependant on the weather. If it is hot please ensure your child has a sunhat and a coating of sunscreen before they come to school, or wears a long sleeved shirt. All infant children are entitled to receive free school meals, this includes a packed lunch on school trips. A packed lunch includes fruit, carrot and cucumber sticks, a biscuit or cake and a ham, cheese, vegan cheese or tuna sandwich. Alternatively, you can provide your own packed lunch for your child. This must be in a named disposable bag. No cans or glass bottles or sweets. May we remind parents not to include anything that contains nuts. We have both children and adults with severe nut allergies. All children need to bring their named water bottle. We would be very grateful if you could complete the google consent form and select your child’s lunch choice by Friday 2nd May. Thank you.
