  • PTFA EGM (Junior External Classroom)15:30 - 16:30Dear Parents and Carers, We are writing to inform you that we will be standing down from our roles on the PTFA. It has been a privilege to support the school and work alongside parents, carers, and staff to help enrich the school community. We would like to thank everyone who has given their time, ideas, and support during our involvement. As a result, the following PTFA positions are now available: Chair The Chair helps lead the PTFA, oversees meetings, and works closely with the school to plan events and activities. This role involves guiding discussions, supporting the committee, and ensuring the PTFA runs smoothly. Vice Chair The Vice Chair supports the Chair and steps in when needed. This role is ideal for someone who would like to be involved in leadership while sharing responsibilities and helping coordinate events and volunteers. Secretary The Secretary manages communication and organisation, including taking minutes at meetings, sharing information with parents, and helping keep records up to date. These roles are vital in helping the PTFA continue its work of supporting the schools and organising events that benefit all pupils. No prior experience is required just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Full support and a handover will be provided. If these three executive roles can’t be filled then unfortunately the PTFA will not be able to continue in its current form and will need to be dissolved. There will be an EGM meeting which everyone will be welcome to attend on Monday 2nd March 2026 3.30pm in the outside classroom on the junior site.   • Portway Parent Book SwapPortway Parent Book Swap There is a lot of excitement around school as Book Week has begun! We want to share that excitement with our Portway Parents too. Every day the children bring home a new book to share with you but do you always have time to enjoy a new book yourself? If you have a book that you have finished enjoying why not bring it in to share with another Portway parent at our Parent Book Swap. The Book Swap is a place you can browse a range of pre-loved books that have been recommended by your fellow parents. Feel free to choose a book or two and take them home to enjoy. The book swap will be held on Wednesday 11th March and can be found outside the hall from 8:30-9:15 and at 2:45-3:30.   • Year R Superhero Dress-Up DayDear Year R Parents/Carers We are very excited about having our own Superhero Dress-Up Day on Thursday 19th March. We would appreciate it if you could send your child dressed up as a superhero of your choice. This could be a real life superhero e.g. Nurse, Police Officer, Firefighter or a fictional superhero e.g. Supergirl, Spiderman or Flash. These costumes can be home-made e.g. a cape could be made by cutting the front and sleeves off of a t-shirt. Please do not feel that you must spend any money and buy a costume specifically for this event. We also have lots of costumes in school if you would like to borrow one - just let us know and we will send it home with your child beforehand. Thank you for your continued support, Year R Team
